Last year I left my job as a bilingual English/Spanish elementary teacher in New Mexico to write, travel, photograph, and volunteer. This blog is about my life in Nicaragua, about what I’m discovering during a period of open-ended exploration, about the people I meet and the stories they tell me. I hope to convey the fascination I feel here. I’m in search of the rhythms and textures of cities and the countryside, of the elements of food and music and language. I invite your comments, questions, and curiosity.

Hey, I’m passing on the 7×7 link award to you – a dubious honour as it comes with quite a set of rules… don’t hate me! I love your blog and though I don’t have many followers I think they should know about it too. http://indiaphare.wordpress.com/2012/02/01/fall-seven-times-and-stand-up-eight/
What a lovely surprise! Thank you, I appreciate the kudos on your blog. It is inspiring me to spend some time exploring other people’s blogs… starting with yours!
Hola,
I am the Art Director for a small educational Spanish-language magazine in the US that was started by my wife, who was born in Nicaragua. I would like to speak with you about using some of your pictures of la Gigantona for an upcoming issue. Please contact me as soon as possible. Gracias.
